Mapping Done Quick

Since March 2026, Mapping Done Quick has been a fortnightly exercise and community event made with the aim of practicing editor proficiency and the translation of ideas into the playfield under time pressure. This is not a contest and there is no winner, but all entries are scored to give mappers an idea of where their attempt stands. Scoring is done by anyone (yes anyone!) who wishes to. MDQ was started by Mir, and the name was coined by Hak as a nod to the speedrunning event GDQ — or Games Done Quick.

Initially, we used Google Forms, which had a few glaring issues and potential problems with scalability. Results were shown in a separate sheet which required manual preparation before each iteration could finish properly. With this site, we hopefully aim to fix all of those inconveniences as well as develop a new and more streamlined process for each iteration.

The website is run by Decordy, and additional management is headed by Vivyanne (Hak).
